    The theatre in the heart of Korça has been founded in 1950–1951, if we start from the institutional records of the time. But, according to various testimonies, theatrical activity has been developed in this space before. Specifically in 1890. According to the memory of the city, the first play performed is that of Shakespeare, "Othello". But as the cornerstone of this theatre, the drama "Reversal", directed by Sokrat Mio, was shown after the Second World War. At the end of the 1960s, the "Andon Zako Çajupi" theatre opened its doors for puppet shows. In it, the theatrical activity did not stop for a moment, even when the state system was changed. Other well-known shows staged on its stage, among others, are: "Shadows of the Night", "Greed", "Lady from the City", "Hell's Angels", "View from the Bridge", "The Monster", etc. Today, the "Andon Zako Çajupi" theatre is among the only theatres that develop the activity in the South of Albania.
